As a female entrepreneur, mother and all-around workaholic, I often neglect my emotional, spiritual and mental wellbeing. The tips I am going to outline in this blog post will help you lift your spirits, and help to change the way you think about yourself.

Self-esteem is defined as confidence in one’s own self-worth and abilities. When your self-esteem is healthy, you carry yourself with pride and fearlessness. However, when your self-esteem is low, you find yourself constantly comparing yourself to others and focusing on every negative aspect of your life, instead of paying attention to the positive things.

With high self-esteem comes a positive outlook on life, a more youthful appearance, and an overall healthier and happier you. Try these eight powerful tips to improve your self-esteem and confidence.

Keep a Self Appreciation Journal

Keeping a self-appreciation journal can boost your self-esteem immensely. You can drastically change the way you feel about yourself by changing the way you talk to yourself. An appreciation journal provides you with a specific space to write down positive things about yourself. It provides you with the opportunity to tell yourself how special you are.

Try doing a 30-day appreciation journal challenge. For the next 30 days, write down positive things about yourself. Write down what you like about yourself, what you feel grateful for, write down at least one thing you are good at, and at least one positive aspect of your life.
